What will you learn during PADI Advanced Open Water Diving Course?

The PADI Advanced Open Water Course consists of 5 dives. Each of the dives is preceded by studying a theory chapter using PADI eLearning platform and completing a simple knowledge test that confirms your full understanding of the diving knowledge.

The course includes five adventure dives: two main and mandatory ones and three elective that are selected by the diver and instructor depending on the diving location, environmental conditions and own preferences.

Two main, mandatory adventures (dives):

  • Deep Adventure Dive
You’ll gain experience in deep diving by diving to a depth range of 18 to 30 meters. The main skills practiced during this dive are: control of breathing to reduce gas consumption, handling any reactions to nitrogen narcosis, control of depth and bottom times (no-decompression) using a dive computer and recognising changes in the water environment occurring with depth (e.g. fading of colors)

  • Underwater Navigation Dive
During the dive, underwater navigation skills are practiced, including: navigation using natural environmental reference points (landmarks, sun, waves, etc.), navigation using a compass to direct yourself in a straight line and in a rectangular route, and estimating distances underwater.

The three remaining adventure dives are chosen from the following:

  • Boat Dive

  • Cavern Adventure Dive

  • Delayed Surface Marker Buoy Adventure Dive

  • Drift Adventure Dive

  • Dry Suit Adventure Dive

  • Enriched Air Adventure Dive

  • Fish Identification Adventure Dive

  • Ice Adventure Dive

  • Night Adventure Dive

  • Peak Performance Buoyancy Adventure Dive

  • Search and Recovery Adventure Dive

  • Sidemount Adventure Dive

  • Wreck Adventure Dive
